I sent the owners of the website a message on facebook. If anyone else with facebook feels comfortable doing so, you can find the page by searching it. Should be the first result. Don't freak out guys, the domain hasn't been sold or canceled. It's still there. As some people said on the facebook page, it's most likely just updates.

If you are all dying to scene that much, I CAN make a forum rp section.

I have a forum my friend set up for Habbo Rpers, but I couldn't get them to join, so now I offer you this. It's a forum-style RP site, and we encourage people to make their own role plays rather hten join ours (but join ours too). Currently, no one is active, but if you join I'm sure it will quickly quickly thrive. http://w11.zetaboards.com/Roleplay_Republic/index/

Yeah, let's stick to role-play on our own forums, Sean.

Three votes and I'll re-open the forum rp section. Someone actually has to start a scene this time -- Remember when the mute first happened and I opened it up after you all begged me to do it and nobody actually DID anything with it...

Well if none us of us have the energy to find another retro and make like 2 or 3 rooms to rp in while we wait, then sure, I wouldn't mind trying forum rp.

But, if people are having scenes they want private, like secrets that are planned that nobody can know yet. maybe scene those through messages or msn or something.

I'd usually be the first to say, move to another retro while we wait and Ill build a few rooms...
BUT this time, I can say I don't think we can find another decent retro. (It's about the stacking functions of other sites, Not coins or furni - I know there are other 'good' retro's. Just NONE as good as Habbo Me)

It might be interesting to give Forum Rp a go, it will get our descriptive juices flowing and may improve Role-play a little.
(Even though you're all wonderful as it is, my lil' rays of sunshine)

I'm up for a little Forum Rp.
We might NOT have to wait THAT long anyways.

Lets hope the Ball can still take places no the 10th of Aug. -fingers crossed-

There are hundreds of other retros out there. Yeah, we can easily find one as good as habbome if we looked hard enough. No big deal. Let's give it a day or two.

Allons-y forum rp.

Fair point Rach, but you wont find me bothering with another Retro, too much work, when Forum Rp is available.

Yeah, its avalible, but that doesnt mean people will do it. Habbo is considered the website for lazy role-players. Granted people like you, Jess, Dani and Stefan actually put WORK into your every line, a lot of others don't. Forum/paragraph rp takes more time and effort and, no offence to anyone on here, a lot of you people are too impatient to do that.

Good point.

Post  MaLoRy on Mon Jul 23, 2012 5:30 pm

That is a good point, actually. I tend to only para well when im on a forum o something where it doesnt stop be after some certain number of letters like habbo does. -shrug-

The problem with habbo is that you get a mix of rp styles there, ranging from three wording to full and double bars. On a forum, speed isn't an issue, so people don't feel as big a need to cut down on what they want to say. Plus, since there aren't any rooms, you have to get the person you are scening with the visualize the place, which requires more desc.

Someone get a scene going.

In a few ways, I agree with Rachel. I like forum role playing, but Alabaster is not a forum role playing game, it's an active one. A forum RP can turn into an active one, but not the other way around. Am I saying look for another retro? No. But the forum RP for Alabaster isn't going to get popular any time soon. Now, I know it sounds like advertising, but I still think going on the other role playing site my friends made up specifically for forum role playing is a great alternative. I get nothing out of it if you go to the other role playing site, keep that in mind, it's just a better alternative.

I dunno, I've never really done forum rp, it gives a bigger picture where you have to describe more. I'm not that amazing as description, I just ramble on a bit.

If you have the motivation and energy to search for another retro and such, go ahead. But I'm just gonna be a slug and wait until I can start a scene either habbo or on forums, I just wanna scene.....

But if it DOES come to it, maybe we should search for a retro and build a few rough rooms for Siege day, just in case the website is down up until then.

I'm going to start looking at other retros.
Apparently the owner of this one hasnt been taking care of the hotel and has not been on forever (according to people on facebook). If this is the case I doubt he'll make an effort to get the hotel back online and running properly. I'll let you guys know what I find. Jake, because I know you probably dont want to rebuild all of those rooms, I can do a few rough rooms just so that people can get scening again

That wont be necessary, as I don't plan on moving to yet another retro in the near future, the move to Habbo Me was very stressful on my part.
I have just completed what I had planned to build. I don't much like the idea of rebuilding EVERYTHING on another site - Again. (It is very time consuming, and as the owner I have always had a vision of how I want to Role-play to look, and so I'd much rather build it myself. As the owner of the Role-play that is my responsibly.)

Patients people, something will be worked out by Jess and I, if Habbo Me, fails to get back to normal in the near future.
In that case, Jess and I shall plan the a temporary move to a suitable retro and let you know our decision and keep you updated on here.
In the mean time, it looks like some of you are enjoying the Forum Rp.

Re: Habbome Died.

Post  Dani on Tue Jul 24, 2012 10:53 am

Now, I know I don't understand or pay attention to most of the things around me, but tbh this is really what I see out of it:

Not everyone enjoys forum roleplay, but I do understand that suddenly running to another retro is effort. But not everyone is into forum roleplay, and I do sort of find it unfair that people that aren't super descriptive and like, aren't big fans of forum rp are only given forum roleplay as an option. I'm not saying move to another retro, cause like Jake said, he pretty much just finished building everything (At least that's what I think he meant). Some people are more like,, visual I guess, like to see the actual setting in front of them instead of having to describe it.

I'm not saying any of these as a solution, whether to find another retro or just wait. I'm just saying how I see it.

Rach, you really do need to settle down. Freaking out and jumping to a new retro isn't going to do anything except cause unnecessary stress. At least we HAVE the alternative of forum rp'ing here. If people don't want to do it, fine, but it's going to be them who are missing out on scenes and a chance to really get into their character's heads.
